PAC Leadership and Organizational Studies Journal (PLOSJ)
Inaugural Volume 1, Issue 1, 2026
Theme: Beyond 2030: Re-imagining Sustainable Development and Africa’s
Future
Aligned to PAC University International Conference, May 28–29
As the global community approaches the 2030 horizon, the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) is increasingly under scrutiny (Lafortune et al, 2020). Progress remains uneven, and
in many contexts, particularly across Africa, structural, institutional, and leadership deficits
continue to constrain transformative outcomes (United Nations, 2025; United Nations
Development Programme, 2026). Moreover, critical questions are emerging about the “fit-
for-purpose” nature of continental frameworks, including the African Union and the viability
of Agenda 2063 in its current form (Staeger & Fagbayibo, 2024).
Could this be a transitional and disruptive season for Africa? Could it be a season to call for a
fundamental rethinking of leadership: its assumptions, its praxis, and its legitimacy in
shaping Africa’s future?
The PAC Leadership and Organizational Studies Journal (PLOSJ) invites scholars,
practitioners, and policy thinkers to contribute to its inaugural issue. This volume seeks to
move beyond conventions and research on leadership paradigms but, instead foreground
bold, critical, and contextual perspectives that challenge the status quo.
We are particularly interested in contributions that:
Interrogate the adequacy of existing leadership models in addressing Africa’s
development paradoxes both in public and private institutions.
Explore emergent and alternative leadership frameworks.
Examine the intersections of leadership, governance, and institutional performance
in Africa
Critically assess the future of Agenda 2063 and continental integration efforts
Provide empirically grounded or practice-based insights into leadership for
sustainable development beyond 2030
Bridge scholarship and practice, offering actionable pathways for transformation
This inaugural issue is intentionally provocative. It is designed as a platform for intellectual
disruption and renewal one that amplifies voices willing to question orthodoxy and
reimagine Africa’s leadership architecture in a rapidly evolving global order.
We welcome interdisciplinary contributions and encourage submissions that integrate
theory, policy, and practice.
Join us in shaping a new leadership discourse for Africa’s future.
